Portrait of Dorothy Gordon (ca. 1950s)

From granddaughter Jodi Page: "She doesn't remember very much from the time, but she thinks she met [Robert] on a movie set, as my grandmother made a living as an extra in the movies in Hollywood. He approached her one day and asked if he could take a photograph of her then paint her portrait from the photograph. He told her that he needed the practice. My grandmother didn't see any harm in it and agreed. I don't even think he charged her for it. The result was wonderful and has hung in my grandmother's house ever since." |
